Heather Altshuler
Fitness Center Director

Heather is a Certified Personal Trainer with an ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) and specialty in Nutrition (NASN-National Association of Sports Nutrition). Her ongoing research in Morbid Obesity has led to the Psychological, Nutritional and Physical aspect of the special needs group.

Heather created FIT @DTC with the mission to provide a facility that would support the needs of trainers and their special needs population (clients). The groups range from Down syndrome, rehab from surgery and the Morbidly Obese (100 lbs or more over weight). "I wanted to create an atmosphere that was nonthreatening and nonjudgmental." These clients need a place where they feel safe and comfortable to workout.

Heather's passion for training and fitness comes from her own past experiences in growing up with a father who was a medical doctor and competitive gymnast as well as her own competitive nature and drive to help others succeed. This has laid the groundwork for her own career as a Sports Medical Trainer and avid competitor. NPC Qualified.
